Vacation Day #3 from the New England theme of this blog...

Started out foggy in Williamsburg VA, then went to Yorktown VA famous for Revolutionary War battle. Lots of history in coastal Virginia, kind of like a New England South! After all they settled Jamestown near here in 1607, the first permanent English colony in the New World.

Taking a vacation from the theme of this blog...

Yesterday I boarded a train for historic Williamsburg, Virginia for a week of great photo-shoots of historic and Christmas decorations in a place that will party like it's 1775! First, the trip out of Boston:

Another Stormy Day on Plum Island, Massachusetts

At the risk of shorting out my dSLR I went out to take pictures at the beach during a very windy "nor'easter":

Trip to Maine after snow

Visited relatives today in S.W. Maine - passed Currier & Ives New England scenes after fresh fall of snow in rural Maine:

Some Surf and Surfing Pix

Today there were unusually large waves at Plum Island, Massachusetts after a fairly ordinary storm that delivered a couple of inches of snow. Some surfers in wetsuits were taking advantage with mixed results:

Walks on the Beach and Dunes

From time to time I trek along Plum Island Beach - the wild portion in the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.

Some shots include the dunes behind the beach and the marsh behind the dunes. On to the beach!
